Founding Story
Sky Harbour was founded in 2018 by Tal Keinan. Tal served 18 years in the Israeli Air Force, flying the F-16 in combat and serving as an Air Combat Instructor. He went on to earn his MBA from Harvard Business School and build a two-decade career in investment management, co-founding and leading a global asset management firm.
It was as an aircraft owner that Tal saw the opportunity Sky Harbour now pursues. Business aviation has grown steadily for decades, and its aircraft have become larger and more sophisticated, but ground infrastructure hasn’t kept pace. At many of the country’s busiest business airports, owners wait years for hangar access, and most available space is shared.
Tal recognized what these aircraft needed: a true home.
Sky Harbour develops private hangar campuses at airports across the United States, providing each aircraft with dedicated space, a dedicated team, and a home base worthy of it. Sky Harbour is the first Home-Basing Operator in aviation — and it’s redefining what aircraft ownership can be.
